PHOTOGRAPHY, or THE NATURAL ORDER OF THINGS.
There are a million photos of ferris wheels. This one isn’t particularly special. But as I was going through my recent shots, it made me realize that in many ways the secret to photography is to simplify. Take as much out of the shot as you can and have it still mean something. It stems from our desire to give the world some kind of natural order. It feels like our culture is on a general trend to simplify — in design and in life and general. There’s too much bullshit. Photography lets us edit out that bullshit. And keep it simple. I think it’s that mindset that makes people gravitate to shots like this. it feels refreshing. If not as well lit as it should be. But i’ll save that for another day.

OK, I did the unthinkable — I decided to start selling prints of my photos on Etsy. My store is here. I’ve been very lucky, receiving a lot of positive feedback on my pictures. So why not? If I fail, at least I tried. And if my photos sell, well then I’ll be glad I did this. The prints look great and I think you will all be pleased with the final product.

PIPITOGRAPHER ON GALLERY NIGHT
Next Friday, October 21st, during gallery night here in Milwaukee, a selection of my photos will be displayed at Translator Digital Cafe. If you live in town, feel free to stop by. There will be drinks and two great bands, Suzuki Beane and the chamber rock trio 1913. I am flattered and humbled to have this opportunity. Should be a fun night.
