I obviously need to switch things a up a bit. I’m going to be pegged as a landscape photographer if I don;t watch it. maybe that’s not a bad thing. I don’t know.
I’ve seen this somewhere before, but it’s worth photographing again.
PHOTOGRAPHY, or THE NATURAL ORDER OF THINGS.
There are a million photos of ferris wheels. This one isn’t particularly special. But as I was going through my recent shots, it made me realize that in many ways the secret to photography is to simplify. Take as much out of the shot as you can and have it still mean something. It stems from our desire to give the world some kind of natural order. It feels like our culture is on a general trend to simplify — in design and in life and general. There’s too much bullshit. Photography lets us edit out that bullshit. And keep it simple. I think it’s that mindset that makes people gravitate to shots like this. it feels refreshing. If not as well lit as it should be. But i’ll save that for another day.
